Visiting Riverview Hospital

New policy on smoking:
Please be advised that as of March 1, 2008, Riverview Hospital's buildings and 25 feet around the buildings will be smoke-free. We kindly ask that you keep this policy in mind if you are considering bringing tobacco or tobacco products to the hospital when you visit. For more information, see the PHSA website.

Helping patients to maintain significant personal relationships is an important treatment goal, so we try to be as flexible as possible regarding visiting hours. There may be times that visiting has to be restricted or enhanced for therapeutic or treatment program purposes. As well, visitors may have to plan their visits around patient appointments or scheduled therapy. For those reasons, it's always a good idea to check with the treatment team about schedules.

Normal visiting hours for most Riverview patient residences are from 10 am to 8:30 pm daily, including weekends and holidays. Next-of-kin may visit seriously ill patients at any time, and we generally extend the same flexibility to family and friends visiting from out of town.

Some programs have different visiting hours due to programming requirements. For all wards at Centre Lawn, visiting hours are 10:00 am to 11:30 am and 1:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

When you visit, please check in at the Information Desk for the building you are visiting.
