ADHD Positive Parenting Support Programs: parenting a child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
The ADHD clinic runs two types of programs to assist parents and their children. We have a one day education workshop offered approximately 5 times a year and an 8 week education/process parenting group held approximately 3 times a year. Both courses are designed for parents/caregivers of children who have been diagnosed with ADHD. The eight week program is always held on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. The one day workshop is also held on Tuesday, from 8:00-4:00. The focus of both programs is to provide parents/caregivers with general information about ADHD, treatments, and overall behaviour management.
The programs are voluntary and at no charge to the parents/caregivers attending. We regret we have no child minding services available. Parents/caregivers must have a child who has been seen in the Child Psychiatry Outpatient Department or referred for the program, and the child must have a medical diagnosis of ADHD (any type).
